The Gili Islands, Lombok, Indonesia Tour And Travel | Travel Information

Name        : Gili Islands
Location   :  Lombok
Country    : Indonesia
This location is very beautiful and stunning highly inappropriate for a family vacation who want to travel. This location is ideal and will never regret after the visit.

Located just off the northwest coast of Lombok, the three islands of Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan are rapidly becoming one of the most popular destinations for visitors to Bali and Lombok. They are now easily accessible direct from Bali with the new Fast Boat service, or by plane and local boat from Lombok.

All three islands feature superb, white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, spectacular coral reefs, and the best snorkeling and diving to be found anywhere on Bali and Lombok. Visitors from all over the world are attracted to the simple pleasures of sun, snorkeling, diving, beautiful beaches, and socializing. The absence of cars, motorcycles, and hawkers adds greatly to the leisure of staying on the Gilis – although there is now a wide range of accommodation available, the islands have maintained the lazy rustic charms of a tropical paradise.

 Getting There
We highly recommend visitors to use a Private Transfer Service to avoid hussle and bustle at Bangsal (public harbour to gili islands). Local street vendors who try to sells things with pushing and pressure, or those who grab your luggage and ask too much for a porter service could be annoying. Paying a little extra for a comfort and easy settlement for a wonderful holiday break is worth it, especially those who travel with kids.
Private Transfer Service includes pick up, meeting and greeting service at the airport/seaport/hotel, land transportation with fully air-con deluxe coaches, private boat charter, and check in assistances at the hotel. To get around the isle, the only means of transport are Cidomos, horse drawn carriages. Bicycle rentals are available too. Expect higher prices for most things there since all food and goods must be brought over from the mainland.

Dive Center Gili Trawangan

Blue Marlin's main dive centre is located on Gili Trawangan. The setting is perfect. White sandy beaches & crystal clear waters. People who visit us, love it so much, they don't want to leave! We have a full service dive centre with a restaurant/bar & accommodation. You can enjoy the peaceful tranquility of Gili Trawangan or, if you prefer, the island also offers a vibrant night life.

“Good Snorkeling - but got stolen by boat capitan...”
1st let me talk about the place:
We did some snorkel between the Gili Trawangan and Nemo, the corals are ok, much more soft corals and some interesting formations near the border of the wall, we could see 3 turtles and could swim with one of them, what was very nice
Stopped to eat in a hotel in Gili Trawangan, the beach is nothing extraordinary... I would not consider staying there, since there are too few options to eat and things to do there, maybe if you are diving on all the dive spot could be a good option, but for staying in the beach no
After that we where supposed to do some snorkeling in the blue coral at Gili Nemo, but as the waves were hitting hard we had to move to a new spot behind the Gili Nemo, it was also ok and we could see some blue corals and some clown fish

The problem is that on this second stop while me and my wife were on the water we the guide we were stolen by the boat capitain, I had my wallet inside a bag, he manage to open it while we were in the water and took 100.000 Rhupias (about 12 dollars), considering that we paid 500.000 for the boat...
We only noticed that after we got to the hotel

So please avoid the boat named BECKO, he is painted in yellow and green, we booked it in a Senggigi in a Restaurant that had also a agency on it, named THE ANGLES (Apung was the seller), Avoid them, there are lots of people offering boats

so be aware and only take the money necessary to eat in the island and nothing that could get stolen while you are in the water
