A WARM WELCOME BACK TO HAYMAN
We are delighted to announce that Hayman has re-opened.
Our much-anticipated re-opening on 1 August followed five months of extensive restoration on the island, which was severely impacted by Tropical Cyclones Anthony and Yasi early this year. This period of closure enabled us to complete the repairs required to landscapes, guest and accommodation areas, activity facilities and essential infrastructure as well as undertake other planned projects.
In the surrounds of the resort, a new botanical garden abounds with some 33,000 new plants and 327 new plant species having been introduced by respected landscape designer, horticulturalist and personality, Jamie Durie, who was engaged to replant our 16 hectares of gardens. With an amazing variety of colours and perfumes emanating from the landscapes, guests will be sharing this beautiful setting with the native birds, butterflies and wildlife who have returned to their island home.
In keeping with our culinary tradition, innovative restaurant concepts are being presented in our Azure beachfront restaurant and the new Nic Graham-designed Fontaine, which is set to become Australia’s signature resort restaurant, whilst the much-loved Oriental and La Trattoria restaurants feature new-look menus and other surprises.
The Hayman Activities hub has been upgraded and features new floodlit tennis courts in addition to other extensive sports facilities plus a personal training room. This is also the new starting point for our re-laid Hayman walking trail.
Hayman Spa will continue to offer the amazing Ocean Massage floating on the Coral Sea waters plus many more indoor and outdoor treatments and therapies.
And there will once again be a variety of adventures by water and in flight to all parts of the Great Barrier Reef.
We also now truly unveil the new fabulous Kerry Hill-designed Beach Villas, which offer an amazing beachfront lifestyle, whilst the private ownership offering of Hayman Private Residences and Hayman Marina Residences continues to generate considerable interest.
Hayman Island tours and activities are endless. This Whitsunday island resort provides easy access to the Great Barrier Reef. Guests can relax in the refreshing swimming pools, including the famous Hayman pool which is 7 times Olympic size. Hayman's stunning beach hugs the resort and is great for swimming, catamaran sailing and windsurfing. The crystal clear waters surrounding Hayman island, are a kaleidoscope of coloured coral and tropical fish making this ideal for diving, snorkeling and visits to secluded beaches.
Hayman Island is a continental island of some 294 hectares, rising to 250 metres at its highest point. The resort is located on the southerly shore fronted by a sweeping sandy beach and surrounded by 14 hectares of lush tropical gardens. A variety of birds inhabit the island, such as White cockatoos, painted lorikeets, kookaburras and kingfishers. Guests may catch sight of Haymans colony of Proserpine Rock Wallabies during an island walk and experience the natural bushland and Australian flora and fauna.
Surrounded by idyllic coral fringed beaches and lapping waters of the Coral Sea, on the western side of the island, Hayman offers beautiful resort living in 228 contemporary rooms, suites, penthouses and a villa.
